PARASSINI KADAVU MUTHAPPAN TEMPLE , KANNUR

Temples have always been a travel destination from the time i remember....as i grew older i visited many temples...few churches...prayed in front of mosques..... i am not a religious person....i don't pray often nor visited temples during festive seasons...but somewhere deep inside me i got the faith....there is some strange feeling that always engulf me when i do visit temples and churches...and so many to cover before i leave this planet....i can't spot a favourite  but when the idea of blogging came about my favourite temples..i decided to start with parassini kadavu muthappan temple.

Lord shiva , the conservator of earth is worshiped in the human form here located in the banks of valapattanam river at kannur district of north kerala. fish , toddy and meat are offering to muthappan . the history , legendary tales , rituals can be read in this website. http://parassinikadavumuthappan.com/

To me north kerala is a magical land..i had never seen a place above thrissur and the cultural diversity of kerala lies in these lands...with marvellous theyyam, different rituals...mamakkam.... i had read about all through many journals and i logged much to visit north kerala and got a bucket list of things to do there....so the first chance for me came last year...

I never knew god will be worshiped in human forms and we can go near them...tell our problems in their ears ...and they will console us...unless the stone idols...and offerings we make in temples...will god hear anything???? here we are sure god is listening to our prayers....omg .....after all these months when writing this still i am feeling chill in my spine...should visit there once again...to get the blessings of muthappan

This blog is for someone like me  who love to travel across kerala in search of its  divergent culture and traditions and legendary tales... let god shower his blessings to visit more places...

REGARDS
PARVATHY MITHUN
